The flowers of Gulmohar - a May' flower, is so special to me. It would usually be a warm welcome to the new comers as well as the students who come back after the summer vacations. The time to check the results of the final exam and hence to get an up-gradation by one level in school, students are supposed to come on the second of May every year and it continues over the years. As soon as I reach the school, I was usually welcomed by some of the friends at the gate waving hands and speaking about the school opening time and related matters. All would be happy as that day is one of the few days students are allowed to come to the school without wearing uniform dresses. We all will be happy to see the colorful friends moving around like butterflies.
As I mentioned earlier, one of the special moment that embrace usually was the beautiful and stop-breathing flowers of Gulmohar spreaded across the tree as like its leaves. The way beneath is too colorful and looks like the red-carpet to give us the warm welcome. There usually, will be many trees around and once the result is checked, the time would be to find the friends who arrived before , chat with them for some time and get back to home. As the home was so near to me, I usually wait few minutes for some other friends to get them in to their bus if they desire so, or time for another 10 minutes of silly and innocent chat.
When I became a post-graduate student, on the way from Mysore city to back home, there would be many Gulmohar trees with heart-breaking colors to wish a warm welcome or say good bye to the passengers. I could see Gulmohar again at IISc Bangalore, an another time to go my mind back to school days....
